The Fresh Air Fund

Host Committee for Annual Gala

The Fresh Air Fund is a nonprofit organization that has been around since 1877. It was founded in New York City with the mission of providing children from low-income families the opportunity to experience life outside the city. Each summer, the organization connects these children with volunteer host families in suburban and rural areas, offering them a chance to experience the outdoors, learn new things, and have a break from the daily struggles of urban life.

The children typically come from neighborhoods in New York City where opportunities might be more limited. The organization focuses on creating a positive, life-changing experience for these children, aiming to reduce the impact of poverty on their lives and providing a broader worldview.
