Financial Analyst, New York or Los Angeles

Wells Group is a boutique management consulting firm offering CFO (strategic finance) and Controller (Accounting) for startups and mid-sized companies. The firm consists of ~20 people and advises companies operating in ecommerce, technology and healthcare, among other industries. Our engagements range in scope and span across multiple industries, including consumer goods & services, healthcare, and tech, among others. We run extremely flat and are looking for someone that can not only execute, but become a core member of our team and contribute to the mission, vision, and culture both at Wells Group and for our clients. This is a salaried full-time position. Salary range: $60k - $90K.

 

We are seeking a finance and accounting professional to grow into a hybrid accounting / finance analyst role.  The ideal candidate can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy and is a self-starter. Candidate should be able to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. Candidate should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and possess strong computer, verbal and written communication skills. Candidate should be detail-oriented, professional, and analytical.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing financial statements and other financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and management reports

  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data

  • Presenting financial information to all levels of management in the organization

  • Maintaining accurate financial records with support

  • Participate in audits, special projects and ad hoc analysis

  • Assisting management in the decision-making process by assisting with budgets and financial forecasts

  • Assist clients in creating or maintaining KPI dashboards and tracking key business metrics 

  • Broad level client support including communications and maintaining accounting infrastructure

  • Oversight of junior team responsibilities including providing clear direction for work and reviewing / analyzing results 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting 

  • Minimum of 2+ years Accounting experience

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Powerpoint

  • Strong financial modeling capabilities or excel experience utilizing data from numerous sources to achieve desired results

  • Comfortable when challenged with difficult, unstructured problems that must be solved quickly

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Requires planning / organizational skills and strict attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Quickbooks / Netsuite experience a plus

  • CPA a plus
